Monty’s Place Narooma was inspired by Ricky’s Place Bega, a community meal initiated by Ross Williams through the Bega Anglican Church. Following this successful initiative Ross has gone on to found The Reaching Out Foundation (ROF) with the aim of establishing such initiatives in regional towns. ROF is a registered charity with a Board of Directors. Pearl’s Place Merimbula has recently opened and negotiations are well underway for a similar outreach in Cooma. ROF is also advising an existing community meal in Moruya.
Although Monty’s Place is constituted under the Uniting Church and is not formally part of ROF, we feel an affiliation with ROF and are very grateful for their financial support and ongoing interest and advice.
Monty's served its first meal on Wednesday 23rd October 2013. And so Monty's was born!

Monty's operated under quite difficult circumstances in the early days.
AND JUST
LOOK AT
US NOW!
Monty's has lost another of its staunchest patrons. Long time resident of Narooma, Otto Eichler, and his wife Brigitte were amongst Monty's first guests when we opened our door 3 years ago, and have been regular patrons ever since. Otto's happy smile and disposition will be sadly missed by all at Monty's.
We currently average about 60 meals per week.
